Assisting Body, Mind and Spirit through Therapeutic Massage
Motion is a key element of good health. If someone is able to perform slow motion stretches they will find their body will be more limber, more robust and more fit to handle the tasks of daily living. If someone is not able to move normally or must spend significant time sitting at a desk or in a wheelchair, massage can improve health by moving the lymphatic fluids. By the actions of systematic compression, toxins are removed from the cells which allows fresh blood, complete with antibodies, vital oxygen and the necessary nutrition to enter keeping a cell healthy. The net effect of the massage is that the client will feel better, pain will be reduced, motion will be easier and a better range of motion may be may occur.

Deep Tissue

Releases chronic muscle tension by experiencing the expert touch of direct deep pressure and slow, penetrating strokes melting the aches and pains away.

Geriatric Massage

The word “geriatric” refers to health impairments that are associated with the later years of life, usually those in a convalescent facility or those over age 65. This type of massage takes age-related health conditions into account. To do this successfully requires theoretical knowledge and technical skills that go beyond what is usually taught in massage schools as it is not needed in a practice directed at younger clients.

Myofascial Release

This therapy works with the fascia that holds all muscles and parts of the body together. If segments of the body which should slide past one another no longer slide, you will feel tight. This therapy allows for these tight areas to release and permits normal motion to occur pain free.

Neural Reset Therapy

This a technique that resets the tonus of a muscle back to a pain free state by stimulation of the nervous system. The sensors of the muscles that monitor muscle length, tension, stretch, pressure, and  acceleration are gently stimulated in a non-threating way that interrupts the pain cycle  between the muscle in spasm and the nervous system. The result is that the muscle relaxes and returns to it normal tone. This method is particularly effective since it isolates and tests muscle groups, resets the muscle and retests to ensure the muscle spasm has been eliminated.

Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers to stimulate more than seven thousand two hundred nerve endings in each foot. This therapy also focuses on the reflex points in the hands and ears. These nerve endings correspond to all parts of the body, including organs and glands. Reflexology is used to prevent rather than cure. It is used to relieve a wide variety of ailments.

This energy massage is safe for all people regardless of their condition. It interacts with the energy fields of the body allowing a return to balance, thereby facilitating the body to heal holistically.

Sports Massage

This type of massage is focused on the muscle groups involved in sports. The massages are quicker, energetic and are designed to prevent injury or allow for quicker recovery from a trauma. Massages can be pre- or post-event. Often they include stretches to improve range of motion.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. A key trigger point is one that has a pain referral pattern along a nerve pathway that activates a latent trigger point on the pathway, or creates it. A satellite trigger point is one which is activated by a key trigger point. Successfully treating the key trigger point will often resolve the satellite, either converting it from being active to latent or completely treating it.
